Future Plans: To make the Vancouver 2010 Olympics and other World Competitions. I have learned to do all of my double jumps. I am working on triple jumps.
NOTE: I learned about the www.PRFSF.com website just by surfing the web. My dad and I have been looking a long time. My dad, Mark Reina, was the President of the Farmington Hills Figure Skating Club. Now he is the General Secretary of the Puerto Rican Figure Skating Federation. I also train at the Taylor Sports Complex with my coach Annette Bowman. I used to workout at the Detroit Skate Club in the summers. They have lots of great skaters at both TSX and DSC.
I have been skating since I was 4 years old. I started Roller Skating and then tried Ice Skating.
I am the current Puerto Rican National Novice Silver Medalist. I was the 2003 Puerto Rican National Juvenile Champion, and 2004 Puerto Rican Intermediate Champion. I earned Puerto Rico's first figure skating medal: Silver for second place, Novice short program at Port Huron FSC's Edith Scheonrocks International Competition. There were lots of Canadians and Americans and one Puerto Rican, me. (February 4, 2006)
I was also on the ISI World Team Compulsory 6 Champions in 2003. My team was called the Material Girls. We also skated in 2004 at the Team Compulsory 7 level.
I am very proud to be Puerto Rican and look forward to representing Puerto Rico in International competitions and the Olympics. My goal is to do all I can to get ready to represent Puerto Rico in the Olympics some day.
I look forward to competing at the Puerto Rican Nationals in the Coliseo in Hato Rey. I would like to skate in Aquadilla too. I was at the US Eastern Great Lakes Regional Competition when the very first ice show in Puerto Rico occurred. I have skated all over the United States in places like San Francisco, Seattle and New Jersey.
I work about 3-5 hours per day on the ice in the summer and 2-3 hours per day during the school year. I actually get to skate more in the summer because I am out of school. I spend another hour doing off ice ballet, conditioning or general working out.
